Job Description: We are seeking an assistant to work under the roasting room manager to fulfill retail and wholesale coffee orders, and (optionally) to work friday evening and saturday morning farmers markets located in ghent and virginia beach respectively.

Availability:

• THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION! (likely 12-20hrs/wk)
• At least 2 weekdays between Tuesday and Friday availability from 7:00am – 3:00pm
• Fridays: 2:00pm – 7:30pm (optional)
• Saturdays: 6:30am – 2:00pm (optional)

Key Responsibilities:

• In-House:
  • Bagging coffee in various weights to fulfill retail and wholesale orders.
  • Utilizing a Frac Pack machine (no experience required) to fulfill wholesale coffee orders.
  • Packing and shipping retail orders.
  • Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Roasting Room.
  • Brewing cold brew - maintaining cleanliness standards, and brewing to recipe standard.
  • Bottling cold brew for sale at the farmers markets.
• Farmers Market: (if applicable)
  • Prepping van for the farmers markets with all required supplies and inventory.
  • Driving the van to the farmers market, ensuring punctuality and adherence to each farmers market's unpacking and parking procedures.
  • Managing farmers market assistants.
  • Setting up stand efficiently, quickly, and to company standard.
  • Adjusting deals on the fly to maximize sales and minimize waste.
  • Packing up efficiently, putting away all equipment properly.
  • Replacing inventory on retail shelves after returning to the shop from the farmers market.

Ideal Candidates will have:

• Cafe experience – barista, back of house, management etc.
• Alternative applicable professional coffee-related experience
• Food handlers’ certification
